Darija under an open licence

Transcribing Darija is becoming a shared building block that any company building agents can use.

Working with the Ministry of Digital Transition, Mistral released on Hugging Face a model that transcribes Standard Arabic and Arabic dialects, Darija included, in real time. Its Apache 2.0 licence lets any company reuse it.

The government lists an agentic assistant among its first solutions, so an agent that guides someone through a procedure is now part of public vocabulary.

In Rabat, the Ministry of Digital Transition reviewed progress on the roadmap, whose 2030 targets are 100 billion dirhams of added value, 50,000 jobs and 200,000 trained specialists. Its first solutions include a sovereign AI marketplace and Idarati AI, an agentic assistant for administrative procedures.

Four Jazari institutes

The Fez agreement plans to encourage new startups, but we have not yet found any call open to young companies.

Four public interest groupings have been set up: Jazari Nucleus, for AI and high-performance computing, and three institutes for education, industry and the smart city. The industry institute goes back to an agreement signed in Fez on 10 March 2026 by three ministries and four universities.

Large-scale hosting in Morocco is still under study, and it is one of the conditions for AI served from within the country.

An agreement starts the studies for Igoudar Dakhla, a group of green data centres aiming for 500 MW, with a sovereign part and a part open to private investors. The studies will settle governance, the business model and financing; no timetable has been published.

Nexus AI Factory

AI processors installed in Morocco would later make it possible to run models in the country for clients who require it, such as healthcare.

A memorandum of understanding signed at GITEX Africa by Nexus Core Systems, the Ministry of Digital Transition and AMDIE announces an AI computing centre in Nouaceur, followed by a second site. According to Hespress, it plans 12 billion dirhams over two phases and 36 MW by the end of 2027.

A CNDP framework on AI would apply to agents like ours, and we are following its preparation.

Public support for young digital companies goes mainly through funds and Technopark, and it requires a company that already exists.

The ministry announced 1.3 billion dirhams for the startup ecosystem, including 70 million dirhams for the Technopark network. On 21 November 2025 it had launched a scheme that puts 400 million dirhams into venture capital funds, alongside private investors.

Toubkal supercomputer

Access to Toubkal goes through research; for a company, it would mean working jointly with a lab.

Morocco's first high-performance computing conference, SupercomputingAfrica 2025, took place at UM6P in Benguerir. Toubkal was presented there as Africa's fastest supercomputer, used mostly by researchers (climate, AI, materials, bioinformatics).
